ddHiFi CZ180 Storage Case Review – Smooth And Handy

The $29.99 ddHiFi CZ180 carrying Case is yet another well-made textile- composite leather carrying case for your personal audio gear.

The ddHiFi CZ180 case was provided by the company upon my request – and I thank them for that. You can get it for $29.99 from ddHiFi.

Introduction

ddHiFi are mainly known for their high-quality adapters, cables, earphones, dongles, and other accessories – which you find to our Wall of Excellence. But they have also issued a series of storage devices which I have all reviewed: their shoulder bags (C2022, C2023), their C2020 accessories case, and their C100 earphones case. Their latest addition is the monstrous CZ300 case.

The CZ180 is size wise somewhere between the C100 and the C2020 and haptically their finest case, small enough to slide in any backpack, and big enough to hold 3 sets of earphones plus some dongles and cables/adapter. Airplane travel comes to mind.

Physicalities and Functionality

The CZ180’s outer shell is made of composite leather…which consists of 10-20% of real leather, shredded and reassembled with glue and paper. It feels very smooth. The company harps on the coffee beans colour which only relates to the metal double slider zipper, which is as rugged as on their other models. Stitching is solid.

The inner lid features four mesh pockets for small items. The well-padded polyester cover of the main chamber also features 2 pockets.

The well-padded main chamber is laid out with suede-like material. Plenty of dividers are included that attached with velcro on their ends. This gives you an almost infinite number of compartmentalization.

ddHiFi CZ180
The main chamber is padded with thick felt-like material (ddHiFi calls is suede). A selection of partitioning strips with velcro ends can be used to compartmentalize the CZ180 according to need.

Some of us like it symmetrical…

Concluding Remarks

After releasing their largest bag ever in the CZ300, ddHiFi simultaneously offer their smallest and fanciest container in the CZ180. It is big enough to take your personal audio equipment on an airplane without taking too much space. It is well made and appealing to the eye, however a removable hand strap would have been useful.

But hey, can’t have everything.

Until next time…keep on listening!
