Redecker Keyboard Brush Review – Cleaners From Venus

I picked up a Redecker Keyboard Brush in a Refillery in Calgary for $16.80 CAD for cleaning my MacBook Air – and for this review. I later purchased another one for my iMac. It is that useful.

Computer keyboards are in big fashion. No idea why. Drop.com appear to add another colourful and excessively illuminated variety to their selection every 2nd day. There are specialty keyboard stores in many major cities. Kids also select keyboards according to the sound of the keys. Believe it or not.

Sybil the cat
One of the leading causes of keyboard contamination.

I could not be bothered. Since day one have I used the keyboards that came with my desktop computers. The choice is even simpler when it comes to notebooks…there actually is none. I have a bunch of Macs and all their keyboards have in common is that the keys are rather flat and therefore hard to clean. I don’t think you can remove them.

We have a cat. Sybil likes to bother me when I am typing, so I pet her to distract her. This leads to a cumulative hairy mess between my keys. But, how to remove this hair easily?

I tend to leave my notebook open overnight to avoid the hinge to get loose over time. There’s a lot of dust accumulating in a short time. What’s the easiest way to clean it off?

I like avoiding cleaning my computer screens with fluids. Sure, it sometimes needs to be done, for the crusty stuff, but not for the simple dust. The Redecker Keyboard Brush’s white side with the long goat hair is very soft on the screen and won’t scratch anything. You can also use it on the keyboard.

However, for the “hairier” situations, the dark bristles will do the job between the keys. I always have the brush handy.

A conventional, old-fashioned brush design for dusting off computers, that’s not the first thing that comes to mind. Ultra-low tech for ultra-high tech? The Redecker Keyboard Brush has worked for me well daily for the last half year, so well that I wanted more than one. And all without chemicals and toxins. Long live Germany’s traditional industries.

I keep saying it: simple things can make a big difference.

Until next time…keep on listening!
