CAYIN OFFICIALLY RELEASES N6iii E203: N6iii With Its Second Audio Motherboard

December 22, 2024, Zhuhai – Cayin is excited to announce the official launch of the N6iii E203, the next-generation portable Digital Audio Player (DAP) with its second Audio Motherboard E203. Following the successful release of the C201 Audio Motherboard in November, the N6iii E203 marks the latest milestone in Cayin’s innovation journey, offering audiophiles an exceptional new level of performance, versatility, and sound quality.

With an approximately 31% increase in PCB size, the N6iii expands on the original N6ii design, providing more room for bold advancements in both design and performance. The E203 module takes this further with cutting-edge features that push the limits of portable audio technology.

E203 Audio Motherboard: The Evolution of ESS SABRE Technology

The E203 Audio Motherboard takes the N6iii platform to the next level with its integration of the ESS ES9039SPro DAC chip, delivering ultra-high dynamic range, ultra-low distortion, and pristine sound quality. The E203 introduces advanced features such as a custom I/V conversion circuit, LPF, and buffer stages, which further enhance the performance of the ESS chip and refine its tonal signature.

In addition, the E203 incorporates Dual Amplifier Operation (DAO), offering three selectable modes: Class AClass AB, and Hyper Mode, giving users complete control over their listening experience, whether they prefer a smooth, classic sound or a more dynamic and energetic presentation.

Introducing the N6iii: “Nothing is Impossible”

The N6iii takes the modular concept to new heights, featuring a 5-inch display that maintains the device’s portability. The front panel showcases an all-screen design, with playback controls and the volume knob seamlessly integrated beneath the screen. The device’s curved sides enhance grip, ensuring comfort during use.

A notable innovation in the N6iii is the quick-release locking mechanism for Audio Motherboards. This tool-free system allows users to effortlessly swap modules, and it is even hot-swappable now.

C201 Audio Motherboard: Parallel Full-Differential Matrix DAC with 8x CS43198

The first version of N6iii is equipped with C201 Audio Motherboard which features a parallel full-differential matrix DAC design utilizing eight Cirrus Logic CS43198 chips. Each DAC operates in mono mode, outputting differential signals. Four DACs per channel are paralleled to create a full-differential output.

This configuration ensures a clean, accurate sound presentation with superior channel separation.

A Message from Bin Liang, CEO of Zhuhai Spark Electronic Equipment Co., Ltd.

“The N6iii is not merely a hardware upgrade; it embodies years of research and innovation. With an approximately 31% increase in PCB area, we have expanded the design space to offer more possibilities within a compact form factor. We aim to preserve the innovative spirit of the N6ii while pushing the boundaries of portable Audio Motherboard technology.”
