Tinhifi Dudu IEM Review (2nd Opinion) – IF I Only Had A Heart
I’ve been lukewarm on Tin’s prior releases (T2, T4 etc.), which sounded sculpted and revealing, but a bit lean and not quite natural. The oddly-named Dudu is quite a departure from the past—it has a rich, full-bodied tonality and a fat, billowy low end which lacks speed but adds some throb and energy to the proceedings. As Durwood (review here) remarks, the upper mids are a bit overdone and sound artificially boosted—your ears tend to over-focus on the vocalists, which makes these a bit incoherent and exhausting, if initially engaging.
Packaging and build are estimable—these look and feel like they could be two hundo, but the included cable might be the most microphonic I’ve encountered. Also comfortable and easy to drive. Sonically, though, I’m left with the sense of quality parts that don’t quite mesh together; I’d pass on these but look forward to future iterations.
